International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 Endorses David Carlucci for Congress
WAWAYANDA, NY (Jan 22, 2020): Today, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 announced its support of State Senator David Carlucci to succeed Congresswoman Nita Lowey in New York’s 17th Congressional District.
A longtime advocate for the hard-working members of IUOE Local 825 and their families, Senator Carlucci is a proven leader with the right balance of experience and energy needed to champion the region and honor the legacy of service left by Congresswoman Lowey’s retirement.
Greg Lalevee, Business Manager of IUOE Local 825 released the following statement:
“David Carlucci is the right leader we need in Congress and we are proud to offer our full endorsement. With the middle-class and organized labor under attack from court rooms to legislative chambers – the time for elected representatives that understand building trades issues, at all levels of government, has never been more critical.
Senator Carlucci has a proven track record of success and getting things done for his constituents. He understands that in order for the Hudson Valley and New York to thrive, we need a strong infrastructure system that can support a 21st century economy. David has been a leader in Albany on those very issues and we know he will be the same leader in Washington.”
Headquartered in Springfield, NJ, the International Union Operating Engineers Local 825 represents nearly 7,500 operating engineers throughout New Jersey and five counties of lower New York: Rockland, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Delaware.
“I thank IUOE Local 825 for their support,” said Senator David Carlucci. “To rebuild the middle class, we have to strengthen and expand our unions. With IUOE Local 825, we will fight for living wages and accessible, quality healthcare.”

Operating Engineers Local 825 Endorses Candidates in New Jersey
Candidates Display Commitment to Organized Labor, Diverse Energy Future and Infrastructure Investment
SPRINGFIELD, NJ (September 24, 2019): Today, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 endorsed dozens of candidates in state, county and local races, recognizing their strong commitment to infrastructure, labor issues and a diverse mix of energy in New Jersey.
“We’re excited to support candidates who back organized labor and recognize the importance of infrastructure investment in a challenging and all-or-nothing political environment,” said Greg Lalevee, Business Manager of IUOE 825. “We took a hard look at the records, public statements and candidates positions on the issues critical to operating engineers: infrastructure investment and support for the Transportation Trust Fund re-authorization, expansion of clean natural gas infrastructure and the role it plays as we diversify our energy mix, and protecting our ability to organize and put members to work. Our endorsements for 2019 are a reflection of where candidate’s positions are in relation to our important issues.”
IUOE 825 remains committed to infrastructure investment and labor advocacy, promoting projects that will create union jobs and improve New Jersey’s economy while building the roads, energy and water infrastructure, and transit systems that form the backbone of our region.
