International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 is pleased to announce that our members have approved an Executive Board recommendation to provide nine scholarship awards of $2,500 per academic year for four years (Freshman through Senior) to nine graduating high school seniors from the class of 2016, who will begin attending a college or university in Fall 2016.
Three of the nine scholarship awards are offered the following categories:
- Outstanding student athlete
- Outstanding student service
- Outstanding appreciation/understanding of unionism and the Labor movement
Each of the nine scholarship winners will be selected based upon demonstrated academic achievement, quality of essay, and commitment to unionism and community service. Special scholarship winners will be selected based upon their extraordinary achievement in a respective category.
