IUOE Local 825 and ELEC praise PSE&G for its job-creation and 10-year, $8.1 billion transmission investment program

SPRINGFIELD, NJ, AUG. 28, 2014 – Operating Engineers Local 825 joined with other regional economic development organizations to acknowledge PSE&G as an “economic engine,” as reported in a study conducted by Rutgers University.

The study details how PSE&G’s $8.1 billion transmission investment program will support 6,000 jobs annually and generate more than 4.3 billion in salary and benefits and more than $640 million in state and local government revenue.

Jersey City Mayor Fulop Tells Local 825 Operating Engineers Union Labor will Dominate Job Sites During Building Boom

EAST BRUNSWICK NJ, JULY 8, 2014 – Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop told Local 825 operating engineers last night, “We’re making sure that union labor dominates job sites all around Jersey City.”

Speaking at the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 825 semiannual meeting at the East Brunswick Hilton, Fulop told nearly 300 union members that, thanks to a building boom, Jersey City will be the state’s largest city by 2016.

6 Scholarship and 3 Grant Winners honored at Awards Dinner on June 3, 2014

This year, the members of Local 825 awarded six $10,000 scholarships and three $1,500 grants to high school seniors going on to college. The students were honored with members of their families at the Sheraton Edison on June 3.

The winners and their family members were greeted by Business Manager Greg Lalevee, President John Wood, Vice President John Nacion, Recording Secretary Bob Davis, Financial Secretary Joe Logan and Treasurer Jim McGowan.

Local 825 Operating Engineers back MacArthur, for 3rd Congressional District Primary in June

SPRINGFIELD, NJ, MARCH 20, 2014 – The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 today endorsed Randolph Mayor Tom MacArthur in his bid to become the next representative New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District.

Mac Arthur, who is completing his term as Randolph mayor and will relocate to his summer home of eight years in Barnegat Light, is running for the seat formerly occupied by Rep. Jon Runyan, who has declined to run for reelection.
